Drunken brawl: Migrant worker strangled to death in Kochi

Kochi: A migrant worker was strangled to death by his friend in a drunken brawl in Kochi on Wednesday early morning. Asad, a West Bengal native, was killed by his friend Sakeer.

Neighbours rushed on hearing noises coming from the building. Upon arrival, they saw a person holding a stool chair. Sensing threat, people  attempted to force their way inside by breaking down the door, but their efforts proved futile. Eventually, the police arrived, forcibly opened the door, and found Asad's body.

It is said that both Asad and Sakeer arrived in the city on Tuesday. Close to 20 other migrant labourers were lodged in the building where the murder took place. Sakeer is being questioned by the police officials.
