Drug detoxification treatment: Maintain confidentiality of children, says Veena George

Thiruvananthapuram: Health minister Veena George has directed authorities concerned to provide drug detoxification treatment ensuring confidentiality of children. Action should be taken if such measures are not adhered, she said.

Her statement came during the discussion on matters related to second phase of anti-drug campaign in the state. The major decisions in the meeting are

• Phone numbers and contact details of authorities concerned where drug sales, peddling and use are to be reported should be displayed in the school
• Food safety department should conduct inspection at shops and establishments near schools
• Programs related to Human Rights Day should be organised
• Career development, vigil forums, stress management sessions should be organised in colleges
