Kozhikode: The police have issued a lookout notice against Rahul P Gopal (29), the accused in the Pantheerankavu domestic violence case. The notice was issued post Rahul’s abscondment. The cops are in touch with the airline companies to know whether the accused has flown abroad.

As per the news the accused brutally assaulted his wife just days after their marriage at his residence in Kozhikode. The victim, who hails from Paravur, recounted the incident to Mathrubhumi.com, stating that her husband with trust issues, allegedly under the influence of alcohol, subjected her to severe physical abuse, including strangulation with a mobile charger wire.

The victim, currently receiving treatment at Paravur Taluk Hospital for serious injuries, said that the assault occurred shortly after her marriage with Rahul P Gopal (29) of Pantheerankavu, Kozhikode. The incident unfolded during a post-wedding ceremony at Rahul's residence when the victim's family visited them. They noticed the marks of abuse on her and asked her about the same, following which she filed a complaint of domestic violence against him with the police.

According to the victim, the marriage proposal came through a matrimonial website, and there were no issues before the wedding. However, tensions arose after the husband blocked the phone numbers of men associated with her, including that of her colleagues. Upon returning home intoxicated after an event, Rahul started assaulting her brutally.

“The cord of the mobile phone charger was tightened around my neck. I was beaten all over my body. He grabbed my head and hit me. Now one side is swollen. When I was struck in the face, I lost consciousness and my nose was bleeding. After this, my husband and his friend who were at home at that time took me to the hospital. He apologised profusely after returning home,” the victim said.

Rahul is an aeronautical engineer based in Germany, and the victim is an MTech graduate employed at Technopark.

Meanwhile, the girl's father accused the police of protecting Rahul, who brutally tortured his daughter. The police have registered a case of domestic violence. The girl's father demanded that a case of attempted murder should also be filed.
