Dispute over using loo led to murder of butcher shop employee in Koothattukulam

Koothattukulam: Nagarjun, a 22-year-old hailing from Tamil Nadu, has been apprehended by the police on charges of murdering his co-worker, Radhakrishnan, aged 47, at a butcher shop in Koothattukulam. Nagarjun has confessed to the authorities that he committed the crime making use of an iron pipe.

The unfortunate incident took place on Tuesday night. In Nagarjun's statement to the police, he revealed that a prior altercation occurred between him and Radhakrishnan over the use of the toilet in their  shared residence. With a vengeful mindset, Nagarjun resorted to assaulting Radhakrishnan with a deadly blow using an iron pipe while the latter was  sleeping in the hall room. The police retrieved the iron pipe from a shed located near the site of the incident.

Nagarjun, who fled the scene, after committing the crime, was finally nabbed at  Kottarakkara, with the help of Tamil Nadu police. Both Nagarjun and Radhakrishnan were staying in an old house in Palakkuzha, owned by the person who ran the butcher shop where they worked.  A special team of police appointed by district police chief Vivek Kumar helped in nabbing the culprit. The police produced Nagarjun in the court on Thursday after taking him for evidence collection at Palakkuzha.
