Over Rs 1 Lakh Loss! KSRTC takes action against 14 employees for mass bunk

Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has initiated disciplinary measures against 14 employees who were found absent from duty without any authorization. In a stern action, 10 permanent category drivers, who were illegally absent from duty on April 29 and 30 from the KSRTC Pathanapuram unit, have been transferred, while four replacement category drivers have been suspended from service.

Pramoj Shankar, Chairman and Managing Director of KSRTC, emphasized that the decisive action was necessitated by the unauthorized mass leave taken by these employees, resulting in the cancellation of numerous services from the Pathanapuram unit. This disruption not only inconvenienced passengers reliant on KSRTC services, but also incurred a financial loss of Rs 1,88,665 to the Corporation.

Highlighting the significant dependence of lakhs of passengers on the KSRTC services, the chairman and managing director stated that this kind of unexpected cancellation of services will lead the regular passengers of KSRTC to look for other means of travel and such irresponsible practices of a section of employees cannot be allowed in any way. He also said that strong action will be taken against such people.
