DGP Jacob Thomas spends previous night of retirement in office

Palakkad: As his last day in service fell on Sunday, a complete lockdown day, DGP Jacob Thomas spent the Saturday night in his office. He slept on the floor on a bed sheet.

Shoranur Metal Industries Chairman and MD DGP Jacob Thomas retired from service on Sunday.

He took to social media to convey the message of his retirement and wrote ‘Civil Service – beginning of last day and sleep at Shoranur Metal Indusrtries Office’ and shared a picture which has gone viral within hours of posting.

He also interacted with media on the last day in office.

“During the monarchies, there were two categories inside the fort – officers and caretakers. Only 3 percent of the people were inside the fort. 97 percent were outside. I am with them. I just slept where they are sleeping,” he said.
