Crowds of devotees gather at Guruvayur to celebrate Vishu

Guruvayur: Guruvayur witnessed a massive gathering of devotees in the early hours of Vishu day as crowds flocked to partake in the auspicious celebrations. The Nalampalam, where devotees traditionally gather for Vishukani darshan, saw a surge in visitors from 2:42 am to 3:42 am. Those unable to enter the Nalampalam during this time period gathered outside near the flag tree and lamppost, eagerly awaiting their turn for darshan.

Amidst an atmosphere filled with anticipation, the doors were opened by the chief priest, Pallissery Madhusudhanan Namboothiri, prompting cheers of 'Jai Krishna' from the thousands assembled to welcome Vishu.

At Guruvayurappa's right front porch in Srilaka, a gold lamp adorned an ornate golden pedestal, casting its glow over the scene. Before an overflowing chandelier, various symbolic Vishukani objects were arranged, including dried coconuts, konna flowers, cucumber, jackfruit, mangoes, scriptures, valkannadi, money, and gold, adding to the festive ambiance of the occasion.
