Devotees celebrate Palm Sunday; holy week begins

Kozhikode: Commemorating Jesus Christ’s entry to Jerusalem, Christians across the world celebrate Palm Sunday today, offering prayers and carrying cut palm leaves and partaking in processions. 

It is celebrated on the Sunday before Easter and marks the beginning of the holy period of the liturgical year. 

Churches will hold special prayers on Sunday renewing the memory of Jesus Christ's Last Supper, Crucifixion and Resurrection.
