Delegates criticize CM and CPM leadership at Kollam district conference

Kollam: Delegates have criticized the functioning of the state government during the CPM Kollam district conference. While launching strong criticism at the leadership, they have pointed out that removing experienced leaders from ministerial positions has backfired, damaging the government's image. This criticism came from the delegation from Anchalummoodu.
There was also sharp criticism against the Home Department, handled by the Chief Minister. The delegation from Kadakkal made this criticism, citing the Kilikkollur case as a basis for their remarks against the police. However, CPM district secretary S Sudevan responded that the Home Department should not be judged as a failure based on some isolated experiences in some police stations.
Doubts were also raised about whether the Chief Minister, as a Politburo member, could adequately fulfill that responsibility. It was suggested that a more balanced cabinet—comprising both ministers from the previous government and new ministers—might have prevented many of the current issues. The conference also discussed the district leadership's failure to resolve factional issues within the Karunagappally area committee.
