Advocate TB Mini, who is waging a legal battle on behalf of the survivor in the actor assault case, has come forward responding to cyber attacks and criticism directed against her. In a Facebook post, TB Mini stated that the moves against her are part of a deliberate attempt to isolate the survivor.

In a Facebook post shared on Thursday, Mini wrote that the objective of the attacks against her—both inside and outside the court—is to break the survivor.

“This case proves how distant justice is for a woman in a patriarchal society. It is also regrettable that women themselves are carrying forward this age-old system,” she added.

The other day, while considering contempt of court petitions, Judge Honey M Varghese had made unusual criticisms against Adv TB Mini. The trial court observed that during the trial, the advocate had appeared in court on fewer than ten days, that she usually remained in court only for about half an hour, and that she was in the habit of sleeping during that time.

Mini had responded to these remarks as well. She alleged that, for the first time in the history of the Indian judiciary, a judge had made defamatory remarks against an advocate in her absence, in the presence of the media.
