Curtains down on Thrissur Pooram festival

Thrissur: The spectacular Thrissur Pooram came to a close on Monday with the traditional ‘Upacharam Cholli Piriyal’ (bidding farewell) at the Vadakkunnathan Temple.

With the pulsating rhythm of ‘ilanjithara melam’, scintillating fireworks and vibrant ‘kudamattam’, this year’s Pooram turned out to be a massive spectacle for all the festival enthusiasts who thronged the temple grounds. 

The fireworks were lit by the Thiruvambady camp and later followed by the Paramekkavu camp, putting curtains down to yet another Pooram festival. The next Pooram will be held on April 19, 2024.
