Thiruvananthapuram: In a strategic push to sharpen its ideological campaign, the Communist Party of India (Marxist) is mobilising 10,000 'independent' voices to counter the rising influence of alleged anti-Left front propaganda in Kerala. The initiative is aimed at leveraging social media and creative expression, and individuals will operate without party symbols or branding.

Students, youth, writers, artists, professionals, and social activists are the prospective faces. The campaign will utilise tools like cartoons, creative writing, performance art, and public discussions.

The new mobilisation will involve individuals who are not formal party members but have loyalty towards the Left. The campaign aims to address the subtle penetration of Hindutva ideology into the social fabric and counter minority communalism.

According to CPM insiders, the effort also seeks to combat religious orthodoxy, superstition, and irrational practices by fostering social awareness and scientific thinking.

The state-level workshop for the initiative has concluded at the EMS Academy, with district-level sessions scheduled to begin next week.

The party’s state leadership will prepare general campaign content. The plan is to disseminate content that reflects leftist and secular perspectives. For better coordination, district-level conveners will be appointed by the CPM.

Party sources maintain that this is part of a broader preparation for retaining power and reinforcing Kerala's Left alternative. Although the CPM operates cultural wings such as the Progressive Arts and Literary Organisation, the party acknowledges that their influence remains confined within party limits.
