‘When attacked, we should hit back, it is worthless to indulge in speeches, says CPM leader MM Mani

Santhanpara (Idukki): Once again, senior CPM leader and former minister MM Mani has come out with yet another vitriolic statement, expressing the party’s belligerent stand before adversities. While addressing the delegates during the Santhanpara area committee meeting, Mani said that, if the CPM leaders and workers would only indulge in speeches, the party would not survive. Unless the party resorts to retaliatory tactics, it will not survive. “If we were hit, we should hit back. I too had hit hack.”, Mani said.

From Mani’s speech

"If attacked, we must retaliate; otherwise, the movement will not survive. Retaliate when attacked, protest, and respond to protests. Protests are meant to bring people to our side. We need to make people say that the retaliation was justified,” he said.

“Retaliating is a necessity, not a joke. Every leader here had directly retaliated at some point. Even I too have done so directly. If we only go around making theoretical speeches, the party will not thrive. I know that many of you here have personally retaliated.  When we are attacked, we must retaliate so that people say, 'Yes, they retaliated, and that is acceptable.' We need to adopt strategies that the public acknowledges and supports."
