CPM leader Sarojini Balanandan passes away

Kochi: Former CPM state committee member Sarojini Balanandan (86) passed away at her daughter’s residence on Tuesday. She was wife of former CPM politburo member late E Balanandan.

Sarojini had served as the state president of the All India Democratic Women’s Association (Aidwa). She had contested in the legislative assembly elections in 1996. Sarojini had also served as the Kalamassery panchayat president between 1980-85. She was a CPM state committee member between 1985-2012. She is survived by three daughters and a son. 

Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan condoled the death of the veteran CPM leader.
