CPM leader accuses Mathew Kuzhalnadan of stamp duty evasion, money laundering

Kochi: CPM Ernakulam district secretary CN Mohanan has accused senior Congress leader and Muvattupuzha MLA Mathew Kuzhalnadan of evading stamp duty and money laundering.
According to Mohanan, the MLA grabbed the property and land at Chinnakanal by committing tax fraud. He alleged that in the registration document registered on March 18, 2021, the value shown is Rs 1.92 crore. However, in the election affidavit submitted on the very next day, it has been valued at Rs 3.5 crore, he said. Mohanan claimed that Kuzhalnadan evaded stamp duty and registration fee worth lakhs in the deal.
Mohan also alleged that MLA’s law firms in Kochi, Bengaluru, Guwahati, Delhi, and Dubai have been used for money laundering activities.
Meanwhile, Kuzhalnadan has refuted the allegations. He maintained that he will reply to the allegations tomorrow.
Interestingly, the development comes just days after Kuzhalnadan targeted Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan over the monthly quota allegations against the latter’s daughter.
