Idukki: Responding to Opposition leader’s warning that “shocking news may be on the way”, CPM state secretary M V Govindan fired back, asserting there will be no surprises—no bombshells in the CPM.

He said, “all the bombs are falling and about to fall over the Congress.

We are not afraid of stories being generated. After all, nothing appears unless it is spoken.”

Govindan reiterated, “There won’t be a single bomb falling in the CPM. It is the Congress where bombs are either already falling or on their way.” He noted that senior figures like the KPCC president and Opposition Leader have stepped aside—just 24 hours ago they were insisting Rahul Mamkootathil should resign. He explained, “The reason they did not force his resignation is that Rahul Mamkootathil is issuing very serious threats. He is threatening—if he resigns, he’d have to reveal many other stories too."

“If the resignation should be made only after a case had been lodged, then what was the need for the Congress to suspend him from the party,” he sought to know.

“More than the case, the evidence that has emerged is far more significant. They call this a model stance. What kind of a model stance is this? The sexual assault has been fully revealed, the women themselves came forward, they named the culprit. There’s nothing left to say anymore—it’s not allegations, it’s evidence. Based on that evidence, Congress leaders themselves have said he must resign. Rahul cannot continue political work in Kerala without resigning. That truth will become clear to those encouraging him, such as Shafi and others. If he speaks further, it will be dangerous,” Govindan asserted.

Referring again to the Opposition Leader’s threat that “stories may emerge against the CPM”, Govindan replied: “‘Let stories come—what are we afraid of? Nothing appears unless it is said. We are moving forward by confronting everything head-on.”

Asked about allegations against Mukesh MLA, he replied: “These were accusations dating back decades when he was a young actor. That’s why the case came up. We can take a position based on whatever the verdict is. But Rahul’s case is different—every woman has come forward to speak. These are not allegations, they are evidence.”

He further charged that the cyber attacks on MLA Uma Thomas were carried out by supporters of Shafi Parambil and Rahul.

Earlier in the day, Opposition Leader VD Satheesan hinted that a shocking revelation was on the way, warning the CPM not to play too much with fire. Addressing a press conference, Satheesan said, “a major development that will shock Kerala is set to come out soon. It won’t take much longer.”

He also issued a stern warning to the BJP. Referring to the incident where protesters brought a bull to his residence, he said, “I will have the same people protest outside Rajeev Chandrasekhar’s house.”

“Don’t assume I’m issuing threats. If you ask whether it’s a threat, yes — it is. CPM leaders shouldn’t play around too much in this matter. Something is coming. Kerala will be shocked. It won’t take long,” Satheesan said at a press conference in Kozhikode.

He also hinted that a major internal explosion within the CPM could happen very soon.
