Periya twin murder case: CPM launches fundraising drive again, aims to raise ₹2 Cr

Kasaragod: The CPM is reportedly preparing to raise funds again under the guise of a "special fund" in connection with the Periya twin murder case. The target is to collect ₹2 crore. Area committees have been instructed to collect ₹500 each from party members.
The fundraising is part of the CPM's effort to engage in legal proceedings related to the case. This is the second time the party is conducting a fundraising campaign in Kasaragod district regarding the politically motivated twin murder case. Members have been directed to contribute the money by January 20. Employed individuals are expected to donate one day's salary. Quotas have also been fixed for each branch.
Earlier, in 2021, funds were collected citing the construction of the district committee office. Former MLA K V Kunhiraman and CPM district committee member K Manikandan, among others, were convicted in the case of the murder of Youth Congress workers Sharath Lal and Kripesh.
