Thiruvananthapuram: The CPM state secretariat on Saturday called for protests against the “propaganda spread by Sangh Parivar” against Kerala Assembly Speaker AN Shamseer. It also demanded the opposition UDF to clarify its position on the matter.

Shamseer has been accused by the BJP of hurting religious sentiments in his speech on science and myth.

“The BJP has been promoting baseless myths as science and history, thereby disseminating unscientific ideas throughout society. Resistance has been mounting against such misleading campaigns. As part of this collective effort, the Speaker made some comments. We strongly condemn the attempts to paint it in communal colours,” CPM stated.

It also took a dig at Congress by pointing out the Congress-BJP alliance at the president election in the Ummannoor grama panchayat in Kollam district.
