No change in CPI’s stand, Ajith Kumar must go: State secretary Binoy Viswam

Kottayam: The CPI has reiterated its stance regarding the meeting of ADGP M.R. Ajith Kumar with RSS leaders, sternly stating that the top official must go, come what may. CPI state secretary Binoy Viswam said that an ADGP in charge of law and order in Kerala should not have any connections with the RSS. While speaking to reporters on Saturday, he repeated his previous statement regarding the removal of Ajith Kumar.

Rejecting CPM state secretary M.V. Govindan’s assertion that his remarks were merely his personal opinion, Binoy Viswam emphasised that what he said was the official stance of his party. “There is no change in the CPI’s position regarding the removal of Ajith Kumar. An official who visits RSS leaders should not continue in that post under the LDF government. This is CPI’s firm stance,” he stated.

He also criticised the position of PV Anvar MLA. “Anvar is not someone who has any awareness of Left politics. We neither see him as a part of the LDF nor as a protector of left parties. Some people are trying to create an image of him as a protector, but we do not share that sentiment. The truth about the individuals behind Anvar will gradually be revealed in the coming days,” Binoy said.

He condemned the ‘hate sloganeering’ of CPM workers against PV Anvar also. “Chopping off limbs of human beings is not the style of communists. You should fight ideas with ideas, not with violence,” he said.
