Thiruvananthapuram: CPI mouthpiece Janayugam has criticised Kerala governor Arif Mohammed Khan. It alleged that the governor is continuing political games by joining Sangh Parivar. The governor refused to grant permission for convening a one-day assembly special session on December 23 to move a resolution against the farm laws of the Centre and questioned what right he has to continue in the post.

A person who sought power from many parties including Congress ended up joining the Sangh Parivar and thus became the governor. The RSS appointed him in a secular state like Kerala in order to implement their agenda easily, the editorial noted.

The government was planning to move a resolution against the farm laws as the states have the right to oppose. Both the government and the opposition had unanimously decided to pass the resolution. However, the governor refused to grant permission for this. Though he has the right to convene the assembly, he should act according to the interest of the elected assembly, the editorial pointed out.

A person holding the post should not oppose the rights of the states to disagree with the laws. Narendra Modi and Amit Shah are appointing people with this attitude in governor post. The government has approached the governor for permission to convene assembly session on December 31. If he continued with his stand, Kerala will take a unanimous decision to oust him from the post, it is pointed out in the article.
