Kollam: Covid-19 induced financial crisis has claimed yet another life in Kerala. A 44-year-old woman, who was unable to run her beauty parlour due to COVID-19 restrictions, committed suicide on Tuesday here at Kollam’s Madannada.

Bindhu Pradeep, who was running beauty parlour adjacent to her house for more than 20 years, was found hanging inside her house.

Bindhu had started a beauty parlour in a rented space at Kottiyam a year ago. However, the parlour, which was started by incurring lakhs of money, remained shut for a prolonged period due to COVID-19 curbs. On the other side, incomes dried up and repayment of the loans was stalled.

Bindhu is survived by husband Pradeep, and children Pranav and Bhagya who are degree students.
