Two foreigners with COVID-19 symptoms escape from Alappuzha medical college

Alappuzha: At a time when efforts are being taken to contain the spread of COVID-19, two foreigners, who were admitted to the Alappuzha Medical College escaped without informing the officials on Friday.

The two have been identified as UK natives Alexander (28) and Elisa (25).  

The duo, who came to Kerala via Doha, were suffering from fever. On reaching the hospital, doctors advised them to stay in the isolation ward at Alappuzha Government Medical College. Meanwhile, they escaped from the spot.

Although the duo has symptoms of COVID-19, there is no official confirmation in this regard. Police have initiated investigations.

On information that the two went to Kayamkulam in a train, officials held inspections when the memu train reached Haripad station. However, the two were nowhere to be found.
