Reports of complete shut down in 7 districts baseless: CM’s office

Thiruvananthapuram: The chief minister’s office on Sunday informed that reports of the government deciding to completely shut down seven districts in Kerala is baseless.

The Kerala government has not decided to impose any new restrictions in any of the seven districts. However, directives have been issued to strictly follow the orders issued earlier.

Considering the special situation in Kasaragod district, steps have been taken to impose more restrictions there, the CM’s office said in a press release.

There were reports of the central government directing for a lockdown in 75 districts in the country in view of the coronavirus pandemic. In Kerala, the districts included Kasaragod, Kannur, Malappuram, Ernakulam, Kottayam, Pathanamthitta and Thiruvananthapuram districts.
