Wayanad by-poll: Massive turnout in Kalpetta as Priyanka Gandhi kicks off her campaign

Wayanad: The Kalpetta town here on Wednesday witnessed a vibrant road show organized by the Congress-led UDF as Priyanka Gandhi kicked off her election campaign in the constituency. She was joined by her brother and former Wayanad MP Rahul Gandhi, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, other leaders, including Revanth Reddy, K. Sudhakaran, P. K. Kunhalikutty, and Sadiq Ali Shihab Thangal.
Priyanka's husband, Robert Vadra, and their son were also present, warmly greeting the crowd from the campaign vehicle. The streets overflowed with UDF supporters, transforming Priyanka's arrival into a jubilant celebration.
This event marks a historic moment as it is the first time Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, and Priyanka Gandhi are participating in an election campaign together in Kerala.
The Wayanad seat was vacated by the LoP Rahul Gandhi who retained the Rae Bareli Lok Sabha Constituency.
UDF workers and supporters as well as members of the general public of all age groups, who were waiting since early morning, welcomed her carrying placards with Priyanka and Rahul Gandhi's photographs, balloons in the party colours and drum beats.
Balloons in the party colours of the Congress and its ally Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) also lined both sides of the nearly two kilometer long roadshow route.
Green flags of IUML and the tricolour of the Congress, which were absent during Rahul Gandhi's roadshow in April this year, were also seen, but in very few numbers.
Priyanka would be contesting against LDF's Sathyan Mokeri and BJP's Navya Haridas.
