New Delhi: Congress MLAs and MPs forwarded a letter to the High Command requesting to change M M Hassan from the post of UDF convener. The complaint has been filed soon after the debacle faced in the local body election.

KPCC office-bearers also requested to change M M Hassan from the position. The leaders pointed out in the letter that Hassan met Welfare Party leaders. He publicly opposed the KPCC leadership and disclosed the decisions without discussing with the party, they noted.

The meeting with Welfare party leaders accompanied by media gave a major setback in the election. The UDF’s unity will be adversely affected if Hassan continues in the position of convener. This will lead to a debacle in the upcoming assembly polls too, the leaders pointed out.

It is stated in the complaint that Hassan made statements which indicated that the party and UDF have difference of opinion during the election. The complaint has been filed to Tariq Anwar, AICC general secretary in-charge of Kerala and K C Venugopal, general secretary of organization.
