EP acting as a recruiting agent, approached me also: Deepthi Mary Varghese

Kochi: Launching a scathing attack at LDF convener E P Jayarjan, KPCC general secretary and AICC member Deepthi Mary Varghese called him a “recruiting agent” of the CPM. 

She said, “Jayarajan is functioning as a recruiting agent. He had even approached me along with broker Nandakumar at the time of Thrikkakara by-election with an offer to join his party.”

“Leave aside Jayarajan, I am not going to fall for such offers even if it is put forth by someone like Sitaram Yechury,” Deepthi added.

Deepthi, also a Kochi Corporation Councillor, was confirming what broker Nandakumar had earlier revealed. He had claimed that apart from Padmaja, a KPCC general secretary was also approached by him and E P to bring them into the party fold.

She also hit out at Minister P Rajeev, stating that he used meaner language than today’s SFI leader Arsho against girl students when he was an SFI leader in Maharaja’s College.

She said, “Now that we’re discussing SFI’s torture chamber, we should remember former college leader P Rajeev also. I know him from the days of Maharaja’s College. He used nastier words than the ones used by today’s SFI leader Arsho against girls.”
