Chief secretary VP Joy's sister Celine V Peter killed in car crash

Ramanattukara: The family was delighted after the birth of a baby. But the sad news turned everything upside down. The grandmother of the newborn was killed in a road accident when she was coming to the hospital carrying essentials. The deceased Celine V Peter is the sister of chief secretary V P Joy.
The car which Celine was driving happened to collide with a lorry in Ramanattukara bypass on Thursday evening. She succumbed to the injuries in the wee hours of Friday while undergoing treatment. The family and friends were shocked on knowing the incident.
Celine’s only daughter Dr Aneeshya Celus had given birth to a baby girl only three days ago. Celine was taking care of her daughter and baby at Star Care hospital in Kozhikode. She had left to their residence in Ramanattukara to collect essentials to the hospital on Thursday evening. However, the car met with accident during the return journey.
The body was taken to Star Care hospital for her daughter to pay last tribute. Then the body was taken to the residence in Ramanattukara for public homage. Celine’s brother chief secretary V P Joy, Kozhikode collector S Sambasiva Rao, Malappuram collector K Gopalakrishnan and several officials and public representatives paid homage.
