CM calls Life Mission a prestigious project; construction of 2.5 lakh houses completed

Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that the Life Mission was an inimitable housing project in the history of Kerala. Life Mission is a prestigious project that improved the lives of the common people. While inaugurating, the CM said that 2.5 lakh houses were completed through the Life Mission scheme and Rs 8,823.20 crore was spent for construction.
A total of 2,50,547 houses were completed. The remaining houses in the scheme also will be completed as early as possible. There were complaints that many applicants were rejected from the scheme. Action has been initiated to consider those applications and give house to eligible applicants, he said.
Life scheme was formed as part of development mission in the state. Through this project, people’s right to a standard living has been realised as per Article 21 of the Constitution. This is what the Life Mission envisions. The chief minister added that the government is grateful to all those who led the project.
As part of the official inauguration of the project, the chief minister attended the house warming ceremony of Vattiyoorkavu native Prabha.
Fake campaigns are going on in order to tarnish the image of the government and humiliate the facilities provided for the public. But the people are aware of this. So, the government will not stop the project that benefits common people, the chief minister stated.
