Kuttippuram: A school teacher was brutally beaten up by a student at the principal’s office in Perassannur government higher secondary school. The victim was identified as Sajeesh. The incident happened on Friday noon. A case has been registered against the student.

Classes were suspended for the higher secondary students in the afternoon, since the PTA executive meeting was being held in the institution. Amidst the proceedings, a group of senior students, who chose not to leave the school premises after the classes were suspended, had moved to the place where the high school girls were practising for the upcoming cultural festival. Upon arriving at the place, the boys had allegedly disturbed the girls forcing them to raise a complaint.

The female teachers brought the incident to the notice of Sajeesh. He in turn instructed the troublemakers to leave the campus immediately. Following this, all students except one left the school, heeding to their teacher’s advice. The boy who decided to stay back was spotted in front of the canteen by Sajeesh later on.

The teacher who questioned the student for roaming idle in the school, took him to the principal’s office. There, in the presence of the head of school, the infuriated student started attacking Sajeesh without any real provocation. The boy twisted his teacher’s right hand. The teacher fell on the floor withering in pain. The principal and the other teachers who rushed to his room lifted Sajeesh from the floor. But the student’s rage was uncontrollable. He stamped on the chest of Sajeesh, who was resting on a chair. In the highly deplorable incident, the student had left his shoe imprints on his teacher’s shirt. Following this, the student was forcibly taken outside the room. The injured teacher had first sought treatment at Kuttipuram taluk hospital; he was shifted to a private hospital later on.

A case has been registered against the student on the basis of the complaint filed by Sajeesh.
