Blocking of ministers in Muthalapozhi: Cases against protesters likely to be dropped

Thiruvananthapuram: The officials will likely dismiss all charges against protestors who blocked state ministers during their visit to the Muthalapozhi Harbour boat accident site.

The decision was taken in a meeting chaired by Ministers Saji Cheriyan, G.R. Anil and Antony Raju. A final decision will be taken after holding talks with Chief Minister. The legal aspects of quashing the cases should also be addressed.

Earlier, four fishermen died after a boat capsized in Muthalapozhi. However, the state ministers who visited the accident spot were stopped by the locals. The visuals of the incident have also come to light.

Following this, the case was registered against several people, including  Vicar General Fr. Eugene Pereira. However, the decision met with criticism from the public.
