Honey Rose's complaint: Case registered against Boby Chemmanur under non-bailable charges

Kochi: The Ernakulam Central Police have registered a case under non-bailable charges against business Boby Chemmanur in connection with a sexual harassment complaint filed by actress Honey Rose.

In her complaint, Honey Rose claimed that she had been subjected to continuous harassment through obscene gestures and remarks, which she stated demeaned her womanhood.

On Tuesday evening, Honey Rose filed the complaint, revealing the details of the harassment through social media. She shared a post saying, "I have filed a complaint at the Ernakulam Central Police Station regarding the continuous obscene insults you have directed at me. You may believe in the power of your wealth, but I believe in the strength of India's legal system."

The actress had previously opened up about her traumatic experiences in a post where she explained that the harassment began during an event she attended. She decided not to participate in any more events hosted by the individual after being humiliated by ambiguous comments. In her statement, Honey Rose accused the individual of using social media to spread defamatory and demeaning remarks about her, aimed at insulting her womanhood.

The harassment escalated after Honey Rose posted a response on social media, following which she received several obscene comments from about 30 individuals. On Sunday night, Honey Rose filed a complaint against these individuals as well, bringing the matter to the Ernakulam Central Police.

In response to the allegations, Boby Chemmanur expressed regret and stated that he would avoid making hurtful comments in the future.

The police have taken action and filed charges against nearly 30 people based on Honey Rose's complaint. In connection with this case, a person named Shaji from Kumbalam has already been arrested.
