Call said she was dead—quick action by Kerala cops saves woman trapped in well

Palakkad: A phone call to the Cherpulassery police station reported the death of a young woman who had fallen into a well at Adakkaputhur in Palakkad. The alert prompted an urgent police response.

On reaching the site, officers examined the well and noticed slight movement inside, indicating the woman was alive. Without delay, they descended into the well and rescued her.

Thanks to the immediate intervention and hospitalisation, the young woman survived the incident.

On its official social media handle, the Kerala Police praised the timely and duty-bound efforts of Cherpulassery Sub-Inspector Shabeeb Rahman, Assistant Sub-Inspectors Subhadra and Shyamkumar, and Civil Police Officer Ratheesh M. R., who jointly carried out the rescue.
