Buffer Zone: CM summons High-level meeting

Thiruvananthapuram: Amid mounting protests against the satellite survey report on buffer zones, chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan has summoned a high-level meeting on Tuesday. Ministers and officials of the forest, revenue and local self-government departments will attend the meeting.
Politicians as well as farmers have come forward against the satellite survey report related to the buffer zones. They alleged that the survey report is incomplete and inaccurate.
Opposition parties and organisations have intensified protests against the government’s stance on buffer zones. Following this, the CM summoned a high-level meeting to discuss the issue.
Forest minister AK Saseendran stated that all matters related to the buffer zone will be discussed in the meeting. He added that the government will approach the Supreme Court seeking more time to submit the report.
At the same time, he noted that the movements against the government will not benefit the farmers.
Meanwhile, Youth Congress staged a protest against minister AK Saseendran at Kalpetta.
