Budget presentation turns violent in Manjeri Municipality; 6 councillors suspended

Malappuram: A budget presentation at Manjeri Municipality turns violent on Friday, leading to a physical confrontation between the ruling UDF and opposition councillors. 

The councillors disrupted the proceedings by arguing that the wards represented by them were purposefully ignored in the budget.

During the vice chairman's budget presentation, opposition councillors raised chants and held placards. The protest soon turned violent, and a clash erupted between the two groups. 

Later, the police intervened to put an end to the melee. Six opposition councillors were suspended for disrupting the budget presentation.
