Bribery case against KM Shaji: Vigilance arrives at Azhikode school to record statement of staff

Kannur: An investigation team of Vigilance arrived at Azhikode school again for collecting evidence in connection to a bribery case, in which Indian Union Muslim League leader KM Shaji is a key suspect. The officials led by Kannur Vigilance DySP Babu Peringeth collected statements from the representatives of school management, teachers, and other staff on Saturday.

KM Shaji is accused of receiving Rs 25 lakh bribe for obtaining the approval to commence the higher secondary batch in Azhikode school. The investigation on the case, which was registered in 2020, is at its final phase now.

The officials who visited the school informed that they could not reveal details regarding the case at present.
