Bribe for surgery: Vigilance arrests ortho doctor of Thrissur Medical College Hospital

Thrissur: An ortho department doctor at Thrissur Medical College, Sherin Isaac, has been arrested for allegedly accepting bribe.

A woman who was injured in an accident was brought to the emergency department of the medical college last week. She needed surgery for a fracture in the arm. However, the doctor sought a bribe.

The woman reported this to Thomas, a public servant. He reported the matter to Thrissur Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau DySP.

Then, the woman reached the doctor's private clinic with notes smeared with phenolphthalein and handed over Rs 3,000. The vigilance officials immediately arrived and found the bribe money from the doctor.
