Kochi: After being acquitted in the high-profile actress assault case, actor Dileep said, “First, all thanks to God.”

He expressed gratitude to his family, friends and supporters, adding, “I am grateful to my family, my friends, and everyone who stood by me and kept me in their prayers.”

Dileep also thanked his legal team, saying, “I am deeply indebted to all the lawyers who defended me over the past nine years.”

He further acknowledged support from people across different fields, saying, “I also want to thank everyone from various walks of life who stood by me during this difficult time. The conspiracy against me started when Manju Warrier claimed there was a criminal conspiracy that needed investigation. The then high-ranking officer, along with a group of criminal police officers, filed a case. They conspired with the main accused and co-accused in the case to fabricate a false story. Later, the police team collaborated with certain media outlets and journalists sympathetic to them to spread the false narrative on social media,” Dileep said.

He added, “The false story concocted by the police team was demolished in court. The real conspiracy was to make me a suspect and to destroy my career, reputation, and life in society.”

The actor was seen smiling and waving to supporters outside the court, where fans celebrated by distributing ladoo.
