SilverLine project scrapped; yellow markers to be removed; PSC rank lists to be extended till Nov 30

Thiruvananthapuram: The Cabinet has decided to cancel the SilverLine project introduced by the first Pinarayi Vijayan government. Chief Minister VD Satheesan told a press conference that all notifications issued in connection with land acquisition for the project would be withdrawn.

The government has also decided to submit a recommendation before the court to withdraw cases related to the SilverLine project, depending on the nature of each case. VD Satheesan said the Revenue Department has been directed to remove the yellow survey markers installed as part of land acquisition for the SilverLine project.

The Chief Minister further said the Cabinet has decided to recommend to the PSC that the validity of all PSC rank lists expiring on August 31, 2026, be extended till November 30, 2026.

He further said that all departments would be entrusted with implementing the commitments outlined in the UDF manifesto under “Vision 2031.” The departments will continue working on these goals throughout the tenure of the UDF government.
