Kozhikode: Pantheerankavu native KK Harshina, the victim in the botched up surgery case at Kozhikode Medical College, is planning to go on a sit-in protest in front of the Commissioner’s office starting from 10 AM on October 21. The protest is being conducted after the report seeking government approval for submitting chargesheet in the case was sent back from the Commissioner's office citing errors. To make things worse, the report was held over for a period of one month, before it was finally sent back for making necessary corrections.

In the meeting of the action council, it was alleged that the authorities were trying to rig the case by delaying the procedures. As a result, the members decided to stage a sit-in protest on Saturday condemning the laxity of officials in punishing the culprits.

It should be noted that it was assistant Commissioner K Sudarshan who had sent back the report highlighting the errors in it. It is the duty of the District Crime Record Bureau to verify such reports and ensure that they are foolproof. After this, the reports are forwarded to the government officials via the commissioner’s office.

However , council members are looking upon the delay as a conscious effort from the side of the officials to overturn the case in the favour of the accused.

Dinesh Perumanna chaired the action council meeting. KK Harshina, Musthafa Palazhi, MT Sethumadhavan, Anwar Sadath, and MV Abdul Latheef addressed the gathering.
