Bomb threat at Pookode Veterinary College in Wayanad; bomb squad conduct inspection

Kalpetta: A bomb threat was issued at Wayanad Pookode Veterinary College on Friday. The threat states that it is in retaliation for the execution of Afzal Guru. A bomb squad is currently inspecting the premises.

The threat message was sent via email to the Vice-Chancellor and the Registrar. In addition to Afzal Guru, the message also mentions Professor Chitrakala Gopalan of Anna University. It claims that Naxal leader Maran is responsible for planting the bomb, and the message is signed in the name of actress Nivetha Pethuraj.

As soon as the email was received, the Vice-Chancellor informed the police. At present, inspections are being carried out under the leadership of the bomb squad and dog squad. Reports indicate that a similar threat message was received a few days ago at the Veterinary College in Salem.
