‘Will do what we say, will burst crackers’: Attempt to celebrate Boby's release blocked by police

Kochi: An attempt to celebrate the release of Boby Chemmannur, who was granted bail by the High Court in connection with the case filed by actress Honey Rose, was thwarted by the police. After Boby’s release from Kakkanad District Jail, members of the All Kerala Men’s Association attempted to burst firecrackers in celebration. However, the police intervened and prevented them, leading to a minor scuffle near the jail premises.
The attempt to burst firecrackers has been ongoing since Tuesday in front of the Kakkanad District Jail, but the police have not allowed it. On Wednesday, after Boby’s release, the activists arrived again with a bundle of firecrackers. They were heard saying, “We will do what we say, and we will burst firecrackers,” but the police again did not allow it. The police seized the firecrackers they brought.
Although Boby was granted bail by the High Court on Tuesday, he did not leave the jail. On Wednesday, Boby responded by stating that many individuals are still in jail because they could not afford the bail amount, and that he had decided not to leave to be in solidarity with them. The High Court sharply criticized this stance. Following this, the members of the Men’s Association gathered and attempted to burst firecrackers.
