Vehicle carrying pregnant woman attacked by BJP workers in Kannur

Kannur: A complaint has been filed with the police in Pilathara here stating that some BJP workers attacked the vehicle in which a pregnant woman was taken to hospital. The injured woman was admitted to a private hospital.

Police suspect over 10 people involved in the incident and a few are being questioned.

The incident happened on Monday at Edat near Payyannur. Nasila, a pregnant woman, was on her way to hospital. The attackers vandalised her vehicle alleging it passed through the BJP roadshow held at Kalliasseri.

Locals intervened and took Nasila to hospital in another vehicle. Police dispersed the party members assembled and registered case for stopping the vehicle and manhandling people.
