Kochi: Congress leader Benny Behanan lashed out at the health minister and state government in the context of increasing number of COVID cases in the state. In the press conference held at Kochi, Behanan alleged that the government has been giving out false information regarding the COVID numbers. Kerala has become the place with the most number of COVID daily cases in the world, he added.

The government used the pandemic for their political gains. False data was released regarding the number of testing and the casualties. Only 90 lakh tests have been done in Kerala while other states have done more than 2 crores tests, he stated.

Behanan also alleged that the government was doing PR work instead of controlling the pandemic. Like sports commentators, the Chief Minister gave commentary of the pandemic. In this context, the government and the health minister should return the awards they received, he added.
