Bengaluru: The Karnataka police located the Bangladeshi woman, who was subjected to brutal rape in Bengaluru, from Kozhikode. The victim was traced in Kozhikode and brought to Bengaluru by a special team on Friday night and was made to undergo medical examination.

The victim was trafficked from Bangadesh and subjected to alleged rape. The reason for the alleged rape and torture was a financial deal between the victim and one of the accused, police said. The woman was staying in Bengaluru illegally.

One of the accused named Sheikh brought the victim to Bengaluru from Bangladesh in the guise of getting a job in a spa. The victim had worked in Hyderabad and Kozhikode. There was an altercation between them regarding money and following this, Sheikh along with his friends kidnapped the victim and raped her. They also captured the visuals on mobile phone.

The accused threatened the victim of circulating the visuals on social media if she did not give them money. They then circulated the clip in Bangladesh and in north eastern states. The Assam police which came to know about the incident informed the Begaluru police and they arrested the culprits.

Police arrested six persons, who are from Bangladesh, including two women, the other day in connection with the alleged rape and torture. The arrest was made after a video clip of the purported incident went viral. The accused were all labourers and were staying at Ramamurthy Nagar in Bengaluru. Based on the preliminary investigation, a case of rape and assault has been registered against the accused.
