Malankara Orthodox Church head Baselios Marthoma Paulose II laid to rest with full state honours

Kottayam: The funeral services of the supreme head of the Malankara Orthodox Church Baselios Marthoma Paulose II Catholic Bava has been completed.

The services were held at the Devalokam Catholicate in Kottayam with all official honours. His body was buried near the tomb of other Catholic Bavas in the chapel.

The ceremony, which was held adhering to Covid protocol, was conducted under the auspices of Kuriakose Mar Clemis, the senior metropolitan of the church.

Bava's body was brought to Parumala Church at 6 in the morning. After the public paid homage abiding by COVID protocols, the service began at 3 pm in the Holy Madbaha of the Chapel.

 President Ramnath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi condoled the death of Catholic Bava.
