Robbery at Kerala Bank ATMs; looted money converted into bitcoins

Thiruvananthapuram: The police have confirmed a huge robbery has taken place in the ATM counters of Kerala Bank. It was found that money was robbed from its nine ATM counters.
In a complaint registered by Kerala Bank, it stated that Rs 2.64 lakhs had been looted from three of its ATMs in Thiruvananthapuram. Yesterday, police had arrested three Kasaragod natives based on the same complaint. After an interrogation, they explained the methods employed in looting with the help of latest technologies.
The volume of the robbery is being revealed as the investigation progresses. Though the complaint mentioned three ATM counters as looted, now the number has climbed to nine. Police also found out that the looted money has been converted to Bitcoins.
Apart from Thiruvananthapuram, the ATMs in Vaikom, Thrissur and Kasaragod were also robbed. As of now, the police have found that the suspects have looted Rs 6 lakhs from ATM counters. The amount may increase with further probe, informed police.
The robberies were carried out by four, including the three who were nabbed by the police. Police said a Delhi native Rahul had provided cards and technology for these suspects. Police are now trying to arrest Rahul too.
