Kozhikode, Kerala: A 30-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the stone pelting incident involving the Alappuzha–Kannur Executive Express, in which a student sustained serious injuries. 

The accused, Krishna Kumar, a native of Kadalundi, was taken into custody by railway police on Monday. According to police, he allegedly threw stones at the train after consuming narcotic substances.

Incident during journey from Aluva to Kozhikode

The incident took place on March 30, when the victim was travelling by train from her hostel in Aluva to her home in Kozhikode. The attack occurred between Feroke and Kadalundi.

Student suffers facial injuries, misses examinations

The stone struck Aishwarya, causing severe injuries to her jaw. Two teeth on the left side were lost, and she also suffered a cut on her lip.

She was admitted to a private hospital in Kozhikode for treatment. Even after 20 days, she remains unable to eat properly and is resting at home.

Aishwarya, a postgraduate bioinformatics student at UC College, Aluva, also missed her examinations following the incident.
