Kozhikode: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday led a massive roadshow in the Beypore Assembly constituency, drawing thousands of supporters as the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led NDA intensified its Kerala election campaign ahead of the April 9 polls.
Shah, who arrived at Calicut airport on Saturday evening, began the roadshow from Mathottam Bijith Junction to Naduvattom, with party workers and supporters lining both sides of the route. Many were seen carrying BJP flags and wearing saffron headgear, creating a vibrant campaign atmosphere.
Visuals aired on television showed people of all age groups gathering along the stretch since early morning to catch a glimpse of the senior BJP leader.
Reaching the starting point around 11.20 am, Shah climbed onto an open-top vehicle decorated with flowers and waved to the crowd, which held cut-outs and raised slogans in support of the BJP and its leadership.
As the roadshow progressed to the beat of drums, Shah greeted supporters and showered flower petals on those gathered along the roadside.

Sharing visuals of the roadshow on social media platforms, Shah said, “Keralam stands with NDA for transparent governance,” signalling the alliance’s campaign pitch in the state.
As part of his campaign schedule, Shah is set to address public meetings in the Kunnathunad constituency in Ernakulam and Kattakkada in Thiruvananthapuram later in the day. He will also interact with Pravasi BJP workers in the state capital.
