Ambulances in Kerala to turn fully white by Jan 2023

Aroor: In a new move, the State Road Transport Authority has directed all ambulances in Kerala to change colour to white. The order will come into effect from January 1, 2023 onwards. 

Reportedly, the existing ambulances should be repainted in line with their efficiency tests. As per the direction, brilliant white colour should be painted on its bumpers and vehicle location tracking devices should be installed too.

Guidelines have also been issued for ambulances carrying dead bodies. Sirens should not be used in such ambulances anymore. Instead, it should have ‘Hearse’ written on the front, back and sides for identification.

Also, a 15 cm wide stripe should be painted in navy blue around the vehicle and its centre.
