Alleged voter fraud in Thrissur: BLOs reveal pressure to add non-residents to voter lists

Thrissur: The investigation conducted by the LDF and UDF leadership into the election defeat and allegations of fake voting in Thrissur has concluded that high-ranking officials colluded in the matter. The basis for this is crucial information received from the BLOs and the unusual movements that occurred during the election phase.

The BLOs reported that there were doubts in the final stage of the name addition focused on flats in Thrissur city, and that most of the people were not residents, but the high-ranking officials ignored it. The female BLO, who maintained that the names of those who were not present could not be added, was immediately removed from her post. Some BLOs have secretly revealed that the high-level instructions were to include all applicants in the list.

When this matter was leaked before the Lok Sabha elections, the UDF and the LDF filed a complaint with the District Election Officer, but no action was taken.

On April 14, 2024, the UDF election in-charge T N Prathapan and the LDF in-charge K P Rajendran also filed a complaint directly on April 15. On April 13, CPI leader Adv K B Sumesh filed a letter seeking action. The complaint included information about where fake votes were cast.

However, District Election Officer V R Krishna Teja did not consider the complaints. The LDF alleged that there was a political motive behind the chaos in Thrissur Pooram, imposed through unusual restrictions just before the elections. In the investigation into the Pooram chaos, the DGP's report also indicated that the ADGP, who was then in Thrissur, was clearly involved. Video footage of the then City Police Commissioner Ankit Asokan interfering in a manner that caused trouble also came to light.

When the Pooram descended into disarray, the first person to arrive at the scene was NDA candidate Suresh Gopi. The new allegation is that the Pooram chaos was planned to get Suresh Gopi to the spot precisely, thereby ensuring victory.
